Things have been relatively quiet on the pregnancy front lately. The most exciting thing that’s happened as of late is the picking of a name. He’s no longer “baby” or “he”, which is really cool. The process seemed to take forever, and the name we picked actually came out of left field at the last second, but we’re both really happy with it. I was a bit surprised to find out that my normally stoic dad teared up a bit when I called my parents and told them. Babies seem to have that effect on people.
Other than that, we’re settling in to a pleasant routine around the house. With the exception of this busy past weekend with homework and school, I’ve been enjoying doing more chores around the house. I guess it’s male nesting. We bought a cute little wood step for our bed as the mattress is a little high. The process of getting into bed every night had gone from awkward and somewhat amusing to not so funny anymore with the bigger belly. The last couple of nights, we’ve taken to lying in bed and giggling at the frenzy of ever-stronger little movements from our little guy. It’s a rather pleasant way of ending a long and busy day. Of course, the fact that he’s really active late in the evening every night is probably not going to be as cute come July.
Finally, apparently my entry about PUPPPs has drawn a little traffic to my humble little blog. Just an update for those that are interested… The Pregnant One has been taking the dandelion root extract and using the PUPPP Relief Soap for a couple of weeks now. The rash has faded to practically non-existent, and the itching is all but gone. Honestly, you’d have to know to look to realize that anything was there. As a brief experiment, she took the dandelion root extract once a day (instead of once in the morning and once with dinner) for two days, and the itching started to make a comeback. Once back to taking it twice daily, the itching stopped. Science!
